Finding the Flaw
SPRINGFIELD—Around 7 p.m.
last night a while male pulled
a knife on a Downtown Motel
employee, demanding the money
behind the counter.
Cass Cassell pulled up to the
motel riding his motorcycle. When
he entered the motel, he pulled
a knife from a sheath on his belt
and said, “Get the money.”
Cassell, who was wearing a
black leather jacket with a skull
and crossbones on the back,
told the lady to lay down behind
the counter and not to get up.
Once Cassell had the estimated
$260, he fl ed the scene on his
motorcycle.
A patrolman spotted the suspect
heading west on 11th Street.
The patrolman pursued Cassell
for two miles until he lost con-
trol of his chopper. Cassell was
uninjured after the crash. He pro-
ceeded to get in a scuffl e with the
offi cer, but the offi cer had Cassell
in custody around 7:15 p.m.
