REPORTAGE
To my beautiful children,
When I was a child, I didn’t get to do the things that you do
or have the stuff that you have, but it didn’t matter because I
had the most fun mum on the block! Your nanna, my mum,
taught me the importance of being playful. She played with
me every day, we were spirited children enjoying life as
mama and daughter. She let me be free, wild and me. It’s so
important to be like that with your children, which is why I’m
so playful, goofy and silly with you! We are always having
fun, being mischievous and filling our days with laughter, and
that’s because your nanna taught me that life is far too short
to worry about things that we cannot control. Focus on what
you have as opposed to what you don’t have. You will always
have an abundance of happiness, adventure and people
who love you. These are the seeds that have helped to
form such loving, soulful, caring children. Share that
with others. Don’t take it all so seriously. Being your parent
is, quite simply, my favourite thing in the world. It is my
gravitational pull. We ride the waves together, connected as
one, as close and intimate as can be. You continue to teach
me about me and even though it’s not always smooth, it is
always full of colour – my very favourite colours. These
vibrant colours make me so happy to be alive and even
happier to be your mum. You guys make me laugh, swoon
and love like I’ve never experienced before. You’re my
greatest joy, my home and I’m so proud of you.
