Agenda

Often, apps that perform many different tasks ultimately perform
none brilliantly, but there are exceptions. Agenda is a relatively
new app that’s available for free from the Mac App Store; how-
ever, premium features, such as Markdown export and the ability
to have full-width images, must be purchased.
Agenda started life as a daily journal app, based on the notes
paradigm, with very simple task management included. One year
later, the Agenda app has become a task-management hub, a
journal, and a content manager. Most of what Agenda is today
is because the developers have implemented user-requested fea-
tures. The latest version brought support for Apple’s Reminders
in addition to the already existing support for Calendar events.
Agenda creates both events and reminders in their respective
Mac apps, and it integrates Apple’s Reminders so you can create
reminders from within Agenda, as well as pull in existing ones.
Many people who are working with OmniFocus, or other task
managers that can access Apple’s app, pull in Agenda’s entries via
Reminders. However, with Apple announcing macOS Catalina’s
redesigned and more powerful Reminders app, Agenda’s develop-
ers have turned their app into a user-friendly hub for anything that
you want to track or be reminded of. And I wouldn’t be surprised
to see some of those users jump ship and stick with just Agenda
and Apple’s app. On Mojave, it already works like a charm, so
I imagine it will be even better when Catalina becomes available.
Reminders support is part of the premium features, which is
$24.99 for MacOS and iOS, and $9.99 for iOS. This also gives
you access to new features for a year, after which you’ll need
to buy the upgrade pack if you want access to new features for
the following year, and so on. Judging from the new and useful
features introduced over the past year, I can only say renewing
every year is worth the money. n
