Review by Peter Bauer

The book’s subtitle is “Expert Techniques to Take Your Digi-
tal Photography to the Next Level,” but this book is more
than a guide to help photographers move from competent to
advanced. The author includes very basic information to start
each section, then moves on to more advanced information.
It’s a good book for photographers of just about every level
below true expert. This book is a good choice for you if you
find that you leave your camera set to Auto or Program, rarely
(if ever) adjust the exposure metering setting, and don’t change
the Aperture setting or autofocus points. It’s reasonably short,
yet comprehensive, making it a good cover-to-cover read for
many photographers. Whether there’s a lack of familiarity with
your camera’s features and capabilities, or if some lazy habits
have crept into your shooting, spending a little time with this
book will get you back on the “advanced” track. n
