Step Nine: Create another new layer by pressing
Command-Shift-N (PC: Ctrl-Shift-N). In the New
Layer dialog that opens, name it “damage” and
click OK.


Step 10: With the Foreground color still set to white
and the Brush tool active, increase the brush size so
it covers the entire photo (I used a size of 4700 px
on this high-resolution image; on the Adobe Stock
preview image, try a size of 1000 px). Now, click
once to apply the brush. If your brush didn’t cover
the entire photo, you can use Free Transform (Com-
mand-T [PC: Ctrl-T]) to enlarge the brushstroke.
Tip: You can quickly decrease the brush size by
pressing the Left Bracket key ([) and increase it by
pressing the Right Bracket key (]).
