eally,it’sverydifficultformetochoosemy
favouritecrochetdesign,aseachtimeI make
somethingnewit becomesmyfavourite!
AlthoughI makeandcreateinvarious
differentstyles,mymainloveofcrochet
definitelybeginswithbeinga miniaturist,andit is
oneofthereasonsI decidedtocrochetinthefirst
place.Thisloveofminiworkhasnowmergedwith
myotherpassions,whicharefashionand
ball-jointeddolls.I nowmakeandselldollitems
fora varietyofdifferent-sizeddolls,fromtiny
vintagePippadollstobeautifulSmartDollsby
DannyChoo– whichmeasureupagainst humans
ata one-thirdscale(abouttwofeet).
Duetothedollsneedinggarmentslikemini
people,myimaginationcanrunriotwithdesigns
tosuiteveryoccasionandeveryseason.My
customersaredollownersofeveryageandfrom
allaroundtheworldandmany,likemyself,have
multipletypesofdoll.It is solovelywhenyousee
yourdesignsonotherpeople’sdollsandI feelvery
privilegedtobepartofthiscreativecommunity.
ThemaingarmentitemI amknownforare my
hats, which I create in all styles, from funkawaii-inspiredteddy,bunnyandcatdesignsto
themoreclassicclochehatsandberets.Atthe
momentI amworkingona summerwardrobethat
willincludesunhats,swimwearandcutedresses
andofcoursethesewillbedonefor each size of
doll,sothere’squitea lottodo.
It is importanttorememberthatalthoughsome
itemsarerelativelyquicktomake,otherstake
considerablehours.TheyarnandhooksI usevary
between1plyyarnand1mmhookstodoubleknit
and3.5mmhooks,whichobviouslyhasa huge
bearingonthetimeframe.Myfavouriteandmost
usedis 4ply,whichI workwitha 3mmhook.
I feelveryluckytobeabletoindulgeinmy
passion,andI getgenuinepleasurefrom
designing,creatingandevenmakingpatternsfor
otherstoenjoyandmakefortheirowndolls.Some
