WHO Ada Cañamares and her husband, Henri Acquatella. Both fashion
entrepreneurs based in Ibiza for most of the year, they travel to Bali regularly for
holidays with their five children. WHAT Planned as a slice of ‘Ibiza in the Tropics’,
La Payesa is the family’s two-storey holiday home. Shaded by palm trees
and with a landscape of tropical flora, the property allows them to fully
embrace ‘nature, rest and relaxation,’ says Ada.
RENOVATION Ada immediately saw its potential when she visited the land
as an empty plot. She called Henri and, hours later, they put in an offer.
The couple worked with Fabrice Capron, a French architect and designer
based in Bali, and the result is not far from their first sketches – a modern,
rustic, hacienda-inspired villa filled with character and detail.
