DINING AREA
At the centre of the open-plan ground floor is the dining
space, anchored by a wooden structure from which pendant
lights are suspended above the table. Locally handcrafted,
the rustic table is the perfect size for the family to come
together for meals and entertaining – try Retrouvius
or Vinterior for a similar style. The iron-framed dining
chairs were also made by artisans on the island.POOLSIDE DECK
(previous page) The couple created an outdoor sitting room
on decking that overlooks both their oval swimming pool and
the tropical plants that dominate the garden. They designed the
corner sofa themselves – it’s made from a built-in cement
structure and chunky, made-to-measure cushions. The
sculptural cactus plants, rattan pendant lights and monochrome
accessories were all sourced in Bali – Caravane stocks
similarly relaxed pieces. The spot has a calm atmosphere,
making it the ideal place for relaxing. ‘On a clear day, you can
see Mount Batur and Mount Agung from here,’ says Henri.
