I
n today’s busy, highly
competitive landscape,
it takes vision, creativity
and bravery to try
something completely
different. That’s what new
brand DS Automobiles is
doing in an established car
market, bringing beautiful,
high-end design and access
to cutting-edge sustainable
technology to a new
audience of drivers.
It’s that focus on
innovation that makes DS
the ideal partner for Red.
Together we’ve recruited
three ambassadors who
bring that same disruptive
spirit to their areas of work.
They are Anna Mason, who
started her made-to-measure
fashion brand to bring
couture to a new customer,
after training with the likes
of Karl Lagerfeld and
Amanda Wakeley; Jasmine
Hemsley, who set up the
wellness company Hemsley
+ Hemsley and Ayurvedic
brand East by West, to
inspire anyone who is
looking for a more balanced,
sustainable lifestyle; and
Alice Olins, who co-
founded career-coaching
‘I WANT TO MAKE CLOTHES OF TRUE
QUALITY THAT LAST’
ANNA MASON
Meet three
women who are
challenging
expectations
and pioneering
change in
their industries
platform the Step Up Club
to help women shape their
own definition of success.
All three women are
challenging the way things
are usually done, carving a
path that works for them –
and, in turn, helping to
inspire other women to do
the same. From Olins’ focus
on working smarter, not
harder, to Mason’s
commitment to making
beautiful clothes that last a
lifetime, not just for one
season, to Hemsley’s belief
in more conscious, joyful
and healthy living, meet the
trailblazers who are doing
things a little differently.
DRESS SMART: ANNA MASON
Fashion designer Anna Mason trained with Karl Lagerfeld
before launching her own collection in 2012. While her
vintage-inspired designs are now sold on Net-a-Porter, she
continues to provide a made-to-measure service, too. She
also offers an antidote to fast fashion: ‘When I design, I
think about making a dress the most classic version of itself,
so people want to wear it for years.” For Mason, that focus
on sustainability aligns well with her DS collaboration. ‘I
like the fact they’re luxurious but within a sustainable
framework,’ she says. ‘That’s what I’m trying to do, too.’
