Polarity of Water
Reasons for polarity: Effects of polarity:

Identify the properties of water that allow it to help an organism
maintain homeostasis.

Property Description
Water can separate the ions in many
compounds.
Water will form hydrogen bonds with other
surfaces. Capillary action is one result.
Water has a slight positive charge on one side of
the molecule and a slight negative charge on the
other side.
Water molecules are attracted to each other.
