Question: When I fast 24 hours – from dinner to dinner or
breakfast to breakfast – time goes quickly. But on my 3 day fast
may I have herbal teas to warm and console my stomach?
Answer: Yes! Herbal teas like mint, alfalfa, chamomile,
rose hip, dandelion, echinacea, goldenseal and anise, etc.,
are soothing health beverages and are always permissible
when you feel you need something warm in your stomach.
If desired, you may add a small amount of raw honey, 100%
maple surup or if diabetic try stevia herb drops to sweeten.
Remember, most China black teas contain tannic acid,
which is used to harden shoe leather, etc. so from now on
substitute herbal green teas. You may also enjoy The Bragg
Vinegar Drink (page 114 ) several times a day (cold or hot)
as it’s a cleanser and purifier. Also, the juice of a lemon in
a glass of distilled water, sweetened with honey is
permissible when fasting. Many feel this helps when fasting,
while others prefer only pure water. You decide.
Question: My children 5, 7 & 9 suffer from frequent colds
and heavy mucus. Will this 24 hour fast help them?
Answer: Yes! The whole Bragg Healthy Lifestyle is a toxicless,
mucusless diet. An important factor to consider is perhaps your
children can’t handle cows’ milk and its by-products. Millions
suffer mucus problems because milk is a toxic mucus-former.
