if their mothers used diazepam during pregnancy; those symptoms may not
appear immediately after birth.
Nursing mothers are advised to avoid the drug, which can continue to pass
into breast milk long after drug use is halted. The drug can build up in babies,
enough that they can be sedated by milk from mothers using diazepam, and
the infants may lose weight while nursing.
Additional information.Methaqualoneand diazepam each have the nick-
name “Ludes,” but the drugs are different substances.
