Pages, Numbers and Keynote all have a great new feature that lets you
anchor an image or object to text so it moves with it.

New features to improve documents

Cut, copy and paste
You can now do this with pages and
sections in the Pages app. If you want
to reuse text and images from one
document in another, click the View
button and select ‘Page Thumbnails’.
Select ‘Copy’ or ‘Cut’, switch to
another documents, right-click a
thumbnail to set the insert position and
select ‘Paste’. The page or section is
pasted after the thumbnail.

Create ebooks
It’s always been possible to create ebooks
in Pages, but now there are great templates
to get you started. Open Pages, click ‘New
Document’ and select ‘Books’ to see them.

Create bookmarks
A bookmark can be attached to any part
of the text in Pages by selecting Insert>
Bookmark. Select text and click Format>Add
Link>Bookmark to create a link to a bookmark.

9

Link to pages
More advanced linking is available for
page layout documents (File>Convert to Page
Layout). Add a link and there is an option to link
to any page in the document.

New book templates
There are new templates
waiting to be discovered and
used in the iWork apps, such as
the book templates in Pages.
Select a book template and
replace this dummy text with
your own to create an ebook.

Text fills
All the iWork apps have the ability
to create fancy headings like this.
It works best on large bold text
with thick characters. Select the
text and go to Styles to choose
gradient or photo fills.

Move with the text
Usually text flows around an
object, but there is a new option to
make it move with the text. This is
useful when inserting or removing
text elsewhere as images stick
with the associated text.

Insert links
Insert bookmarks and link to
them using the Insert>Add
Link menu. With page layout
documents, like magazines
and newsletters, you can link to
other pages in the publication
using the same menu.
