Be aware that some resources and battery power will be used by the app to
keep your Mac monitored continually. It is, however, relatively frugal.

Customise the

interface

1

Drag and drop
Click iStat Menus in the menu bar and
click the iStat icon at the bottom. You will now
be taken to the customisation screen where
you can drag items to the Active Items menu.

2

State by state
Click ‘Customise menubar for different
states’ to change what is displayed depending
on whether the device is draining, charging,
charged or if AirPods are connected.

Step-by-step Keep your Mac running

1

Purchase the app
The app costs £9.99 which may seem a
high price, but when you consider that it could
potentially keep your Mac running for much
longer it really is a small price to pay.

4

It’s so subtle
A new item will appear in the menu bar
at the top which you can click to see more
information. With only a few options checked it
is almost invisible in normal use.

2

Keep it running
Upon the first launch you will be asked if
you want the app to open at login. We would
advise you to enable this as the app works
best when it is continually collecting data.

5

Click for more
Take time to play with all of the options
available to you. There are many places where
you can click to see more detailed data on
everything from batteries to disk space.

3

Manage the settings
The main screen of the app shows the
settings. We would suggest that you check
all in the left-hand column and then tweak the
colour scheme on the right.

6

The update frequency
If your battery is healthy it makes sense to
set the update frequency to ‘Fast’. This ensures
that you will always have the latest data to hand
to quickly check problems.
