View subtitles
When watching media on your
iPhone, you may not always be in the best
placed to hear what is going on. Thankfully, by
going to Accessibility>Subtitles & Captioning
you can enable the ‘Closed Captions + SDH’
option so that you can still understand what is
going on without needing to hear.

Auto-answer calls
If you want to automatically answer
calls, hands-free, after a certain duration then
go to Accessibility>Call Audio Routing and
then tap on the ‘Auto-Answer Calls’ option.
Turn the feature on and then use the ‘+’ and ‘–’
icons to adjust the duration of time to elapse
before the call is auto-answered.

Customise captions
Still in the ‘Subtitles & Captioning’
section of Accessibility, tap on ‘Style’ and you
will be able to choose exactly how captions
and subtitles are displayed onscreen. If the
standard options don’t suit, tap on ‘Create
New Style...’ and create your own caption
style, colour, background, etc.

Kill vibrations
Some people find it distracting when
their iPhone vibrates – especially if it happens
when they’re driving or in meetings. To instantly
prevent your device from vibrating, go to
Accessibility>Vibration and then turn off the
feature. Killing vibrations will also extend the life
of your iPhone battery.

Quieter calls
No one wants to be bothered by
outside noise while making calls on their
iPhone, so go to the Accessibility settings and
then turn on the ‘Phone Noise Cancellation’
feature to reduce the ambient noise on phone
calls when you are holding the handset up to
your ear.

Set a custom time limit for Guided Access – tap on ‘Options’ in the pre-Guided
Access options screen and then tap ‘Time Limit’.
