Some websites will not allow you to change your password on your iPhone, in
which case you will need to use a computer instead.

Create a strong password


Allow iOS to generate a password on your behalf
to ensure you enjoy the best possible security

Select a device
Using the same password for more than
one account is a security risk so tap a flagged
account so see what you’re using. Now select
‘Change Password on Website’ to amend it.

Visit the website
You’ll be taken to the website while
remaining in the Settings app but you’ll have to
manually find the login option. Sign in and iOS
will let you use the stored details.

Change the password
Look for the setting that lets you alter the
password and make the change. Your new
password for the site or app will be saved in
iCloud Keychain for future use. Tap ‘Cancel’.

Ask Siri for your passwords
For a quick way to view the passwords
saved to your iCloud Keychain, ask Siri.
Say “show me my passwords” to be
taken to the Website & App Passwords
page or say “show me my password
for [account]” to go straight to the login
details for a specific service. You’ll be
asked to unlock your iPhone using
Touch ID, Face ID or a passcode.

When asking for a secure
password via Safari, it will
show you the suggestion. Tap
‘Use Suggested Password’ if
you are happy with it.

Ask for a
suggestion
Sometimes iOS won’t
automatically fill the box
but you can still request
assistance. Tap the Password
option which appears above
the keyboard and select
‘Suggest New Password’.

Enter a password
Tap the password entry box
and iOS should fill it with a
strong, suggested password
while giving you an option of
Boost your security choosing your own.
Apple will suggest a password
that fits the requirements of
many websites and apps. The
passwords will be stored in
iCloud Keychain and you can
activate them via Face ID or
Touch ID when logging in.
