Voice Memos

Organise and

recover your

voice memos

T

he Voice Memo app has long been one of the
iPhone’s essentials and when it appeared on the
iPad, it won itself even more fans. Having an ability
to record memos comes in handy in many situations from
the lecture theatre to an interview. You can also sync
recordings across your Apple devices by ensuring you’re
signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID and turning on
Voice Memos in the iCloud settings.
There are some limitations. You can’t reorganise your
messages or place them into folders. But you can edit,
share and delete them and, as we see here, recover
accidentally removed memos. You can also determine
when a clear-out of deleted memos takes place, alter the
quality of your recordings and ask Siri to instantly playback
your last memo. Listen up...

Obtain better quality recordings, name files by location
and restore deleted voice memos on iPhone or iPad

Step-by-step Recover your deleted voice memos

1

Launch Voice Memos
If you have recently removed a voice
memo only to realise that you actually need it,
do not despair. There is a simple way of getting
it back so launch the Voice Memos app.

2

Keep scrolling
Scroll down the screen, past all of your
recordings, and you will see an entry called
Recently Deleted. As the name suggests, this
is where your removed files are kept.

3

Select a recording
You can tap any of these recordings
to listen to them (a Play/Pause button will
appear). If you decide you want to undelete
that recording, you only need to tap ‘Recover’.

If you accidentally delete voice memo recordings then you
can recover them at any time in-app...
