Google is also rolling out the ability to auto-delete your location activity after
three or 18 months so watch out for the settings.

Auto-delete activity
By selecting ‘Choose To Delete
Automatically’, you’ll be presented with three
options: select to manually delete or else have
Google wipe activity after three or 18 months.

5

Make a choice
Simply tap the button next to the option
you want. Google will still retain any activity
information it gathers but only for that time
period, after which it will be deleted.

6

Confirm the choice
You will be asked to confirm your choice
and once you do, your preference will be
saved. You can now rest, knowing Google
won’t be retaining your activity data forever.

Turn Location Services off
Apple lets you toggle Location Services
off by going to Settings>Privacy>
Location Services. You can also turn
off Location Services and GPS for
individual apps: go down the list and
indicate ‘Never’ against apps you wish
to bar. Should an app need to access
your location in order to work, such as
Maps, consider selecting ‘While Using’.
