Microsoft Authenticator

Authenticate your Microsoft

login on Apple Watch

T

his may leave a bitter taste in the mouths of many
an Apple fan but – whisper it – some of us will be
making regular use of Microsoft’s vast range of
services and applications. If this applies to you, then you’ll
perhaps want to benefit from better protection of your
accounts in the guise of two-factor verification. How? Well,
the good news is that you can use your Apple Watch for
such a purpose, making life much easier for you.
Indeed, with the assistance of the Microsoft
Authenticator app, you can have notifications of sign-ins
sent to your iPhone or, more importantly for this tutorial,
your wrist, allowing you to Approve access via your Apple
Watch in an instant. It certainly allows for far greater
security since someone trying to gain access to your
account will need one of your devices to hand. Having
alerts of sign-ins will also come in useful as a heads-up
against potential hacks.
