If you have the Microsoft Authenticator app open on your iPhone, you can
have it generate a time-sensitive verification code for use in sign-ins.

Sign in
Indicatethetypeof accountthatyou
have:eitherpersonal,workor school,or
somethingelse.NowsignintoyourMicrosoft
accountusingyourusernameandpassword.

Set up Watch
When you look at your Watch screen,
you will see your account displayed in the
Authenticator app. With the app open on your
iPhone, tap ‘Set Up’ on your Watch.

Finish off
Within a few seconds, your Apple Watch
should complete the setup process. It will
indicate your ability to approve notifications for
the account on the Watch. Tap ‘Finish’.

Notreceivingnotifications?
If youarenotseeingnotifications
eventhoughyouhaveaskedforthem,
thenthereis a chancethatyouhave
disabledthem.Tocheck,openthe
WatchapponyouriPhoneandtapthe
‘MyWatch’tab.Select‘Notifications’
andmakesurethenotifications
indicatoris turnedonbothin general
andfortheAuthenticatorapp.

Approve or deny
There will be three options
available to you. You can
Approve the sign-in request,
deny it or dismiss. To access
the account you’re signing into,
choose ‘Approve’.

Check for
unauthorised access
Should you see this prompt
when you haven’t made
any attempt to log into your
account, then you should be
on high alert. It’s a good way to
monitor your security.

Unlock your Watch
You will only receive a
message like this if your Apple
Watch is unlocked and your
iPhone is locked. Otherwise
the Authenticator will prompt
you on your iPhone instead.

Log into account
When you sign into a Microsoft
account added to Authenticator,
you can select ‘Use The
Microsoft Authenticator App
Instead’ on the password
screen. Doing so, sends this
prompt to your Apple Watch.
