Sporting model numbers A2068, A2197,

suggested a 10.2-inch iPad has already entered
mass production, and that the successor to the
2018 iPad Pro is also in the works...

AN ALL-NEW iPAD COULD BE COMING

Whilst it’s important to take every Apple rumor
with a pinch of salt, multiple sources have
suggested that a new 10.2-inch iPad model is
currently in production ahead of a release later
this year, serving as a successor to the budget
9.7-inch iPad, running iPadOS 13 for the first
time. Apple often releases iPads following its
September Special Event, where it will show off
new iPhones and Apple Watches. Last year, Apple
unveiled the iPad Pro in October, just in time for
the holidays, and it would not be unreasonable
to expect them to the same this year.

As reported by DigiTimes, a Taiwanese
industry publication with a mixed track record
when it comes to Apple rumors, Apple is
expected to release a new low-cost iPad in the
“late third quarter” of 2019, which would mean
the iPad would be released before the end of
September, contradicting previous suggestions
that Apple would host a separate iPad event
in October. This year, Apple has “thrown out
the rulebook” when it comes to its events,
with the company hosting a Special Event
to highlight its services like Apple News+,
Apple TV+, Apple Card and Apple Arcade;
they might repeat that in September, unveiling
iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and more
in one presentation.
