And a September release for a new iPad would
not be out of the ordinary, especially if it was an
incremental release that Apple executives could
cover in a few minutes as part of a wider product
presentation. Back in 2015, Apple used its
Keynote Speech to show off the iPad Pro and a
new iPad mini, but until Tim Cook hits the stage
in September, we won’t know for sure.
What we do know for sure, though, is that a 10.2-
inch iPad does exist. Tablets sized over 10 inches
will surge to over 70% of global shipments in
the fourth quarter, according to industry data
that cited a new 10-inch iPad from Apple in its
predictions, whilst analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has
also suggested that a successor to the 9.7-
inch iPad would be released a some point
this year. Proven leaker CoinX has also weighed
in on the new iPad, suggesting that Apple will
release a 10.2-inch seventh-generation iPad and
an entirely new 10.5-inch iPad, but “not at the
same time,” according to his tweet.
