It’s a Wrap!

By Lynn Cook

A

wrap is a really handy little item to
have in your wardrobe for the summer
months - great to put on after a shower,
getting out of the pool or just hanging around
the house. But ...

And there is a but ... because you can never
get one when you want one in the right colour,
size or shape. So here is a pattern that, if you are
all set up in the sewing room, you can make in
less than half an hour as there is only one seam.

This pattern allows for a size 14-16 in both
long and knee length. You can grade up or
down to suit your size. The secret to this pattern
fi tting across two or more sizes lies in the ties
at the front and to making sure the split in
the upper front is deep enough for tying the
fronts together fi rmly around your body. If you
want more fi rmness around the bust line then
you lengthen the split to adjust. If this seems
confusing stitch up the front seamline and you
will see what I am talking about; you need
the longer split to tie the two front extensions
together.

So, go fi nd your fabric, preferably cotton or
voile, and get to it. You will love making these
wraps and want to live in them all summer.
