If you have virtual machines that are cluster resources but you wish to make them
nonclustered, select the resource in Failover Cluster Manager, and select the Remove
action. This has no impact on the availability of the virtual machine and does not
require the virtual machine to be stopped.


To create a clustered virtual machine in SCVMM, the process is exactly the same as
creating a regular virtual machine. There is only one change to the virtual machine
configuration. On the Configure Hardware page of the Create Virtual Machine Wizard,
look at the Advanced options and select the Availability section. Select the Make This
Virtual Machine Highly Available check box, as shown in Figure 7.32. This tells
SCVMM to deploy this virtual machine to a cluster and make the virtual machine
highly available.
