differential diagnosis
■Clinically characteristic
■In immunosuppressed patients, cryptococcal infection may mas-
querade as molluscum.
management
What to Do First
■Establish diagnosis.
■Examine contacts.
General Measures
■Assess for other sexually transmitted diseases in adults.
specific therapy
■Removal or destruction – liquid nitrogen, sharp curettage or laser
ablation
follow-up
■Reassess for recurrences at 2–3 months following the last observed
lesion.

■Self-limited disease except in immunocompromised patients
