■Usually asymptomatic; vague RUQ pain; neonatal cholestasis seen
in few patients; cholecystitis or cholangitis with gallstone disease;
cirrhosis with liver failure if advanced
■Symptomatic stage: hepatosplenomegaly, variceal bleeding
■Pulmonary disease and pancreatic insufficiency often predominate
