locomotion carries the center of gravity through the heel toward the forefoot.
2) Stance Phase - “Full Flat”: The single limb is now fully supporting the weight of the
body, and forward momentum is still largely responsible for carrying the center of
gravity forward. Around the hip joint, muscular stabilization must occur.



  1. Stance Phase - “Toe Off”: Forceful contraction by the plantar flexor musculature
    pushes the foot against the surface, providing the thrust off from the surface.
