When landing, ground contact should be on the balls of the feet, and the ankles, knees and hips need to
sequentially flex in order to properly absorb the impact. The centre of gravity must be over the feet, and
the shoulders should be over the knees


Variation: You can vary this exercise by having the players jump side to side over a line, such as the
touch line (Figure 7.6c), or by having them dribble or do keep-ups during the recovery period instead of
one-touch passing. All other coaching points remain the same.

Progression: You can progress this exercise to a high intensity level by having the players jump off and
land on one leg.
