Last year, Children’s National Hospital treated 63% more patients for mental health

emergencies compared to 2019. Depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harming

behavior and eating disorders are spiraling among children and teens.

Children’s National is changing this trajectory.

We’re tapping into our expertise and community networks to increase access to care. Mental health

innovations and expansion will help all kids — from before birth by supporting maternal health, through

childhood, adolescence and beyond.

Donations allow us to help more kids thrive.

Caring for

Kids in Crisis.

“The sooner you can get
kids the services and
treatment they need, the
better you can prevent
those issues becoming a
problem later in life.”
