CORSAIR RM 750

80+GOLD PSU RRP: $

This Corsair RM unit has a
respectable 80+ Gold rating to
ensure a high level of efficiency and
a quiet fan means it will be nice and
subtle in our build. As it’s modular
too, we can only use the necessary
connections we need to keep on top
of cable management, nobody has
time for messy cables, especially
when they aren’t being used. It’s not
the cheapest PSU but, at 750W, it is
powerful enough to keep all of our
components running at optimum.
In fact, it’s probably more than we
need, even with our RTX 3050 GPU
powering away. corsair.com

MOTHERBOARD

MSI MAG Z

TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR
RRP: $

Of course, with our
12th-gen chip, we
needed to get a Z
board with the compatible
LGA1700 socket to go along
with it. This can make the
leap to the new Alder Lake
chips more of a difficult choice,
as you will have to dig even
deeper into your wallets.
For this build, we didn’t go down
the route of DDR5, as it’s still in
the early stages of its introduction,
prices are sky high and
performance isn’t yet swaying us
in comparison to DDR4. This meant
we could use MSI’s MAG Z
TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4. This slick-
looking board gives us PCIe 5.
support, a very welcomed upgrade
over the Z590 TOMAHAWK.
For a Z690 board, it’s reasonably
priced and a strong board to use
with plenty of futureproofing.
Although if you’re into RGB, you’re
out of luck here. msi.com
