More than two dozen Maryland
brewers, including several from
Montgomery County, will be
pouring samples of seasonal ales,
stouts and lagers at this tasting
event from the Brewers Association
of Maryland, which was originally
slated to happen in February
(hence the “love” theme).
Columbia’s Black Flag and
Sapwood Cellars and Odenton’s
Crooked Crab are also participating
in this year’s edition, which will
include snacks from McGinty’s
Public House and music from the
Noah Pierre Band. 6 to 10 p.m.

April 21-24 Smithsonian
Craft Show
Take a l ook at art that you can
actually bring home at the 40th
annual Smithsonian Craft Show,
which is back in person for the first
time since 2019. Over four days,
120 artists chosen by a p anel of
expert jurors will display their
works for sale inside the National
Building Museum’s Great Hall. The
“Future Focus”-themed show spans
a range of contemporary craft and
design, including jewelry, basketry,
ceramics, decorative fiber,
furniture, glass, wood and
wearable art. Tickets to the April 20
preview party cost $250 and offer
early access to shop, a chance to
meet the artists, and a buffet and
drinks. Various times. N ational

April 21-23 Hannah
Gadsby
When Australian comedian Hannah
Gadsby’s wildly original show
“Nanette” hit Netflix in 2018, she
became a phenomenon, and she
landed four sets at the Kennedy
Center in 2019. Gadsby is back this
spring with five Kennedy Center
performances of her newest, “Body
of Work,” which she promises is a
“feel-good” love story after she
tackled difficult issues such as
trauma and homophobia in
“Nanette” and an autism diagnosis
in her subsequent Netflix special,
“Douglas.” Various times. K ennedy
Center, 2700 F St. NW. kennedy-

April 27-June 5 ‘John
Proctor is the Villain’
The teen characters in playwright
Kimberly Belflower’s “John Proctor
is the Villain” explore parallels
between their own lives and a play
on their junior year English
syllabus, Arthur Miller’s “Th e
Crucible.” Belflower’s coming-of-
age play set in a small town in rural
Georgia makes its world premiere
at Studio Theatre, reexamining that
classic work with a #MeToo lens.

June 10 Capital Pride

featuring three stages and more
than 300 exhibitors on
Pennsylvania Avenue (June 12).
Other Capital Pride Alliance events
include the parade (with a modified

(both June 11). Snag tickets to kick
off the weekend at the official
