TOP 5 ACCESSORIES FOR XBOX ONE

XBOX ONE ELITE CONTROLLER

SEAGATE 4TB GAME
DRIVE FOR XBOX ONE
£89.99/$113 BEST HARD DRIVE
This officially branded external hard drive
on Xbox One comes in 2GB or 4GB options.
It’s basically a regular Seagate drive in a
flashier case, so you’re paying about
$15-$20 extra for having the Xbox logo on
an official case. Nice though.

VENOM TWIN
DOCKING STATION
£14.99/$21.99 BEST RECHARGING DOCK
You won’t break the bank with this
essential bit of kit. With a cradle for two
wireless controllers and a reasonably rapid
recharge rate, it comes with two NiMH
rechargeable battery packs and has
colour-changing LED charge indicators.
Never run your pads down again!

RAZER TURRET
£249.99/$249.99 BEST KEYBOARD
The first official wireless keyboard/mouse
combo from Razer, for those who love the
twitch-precision of mouse control. The
keys’ weighting is good, charge time is
excellent and the magnetised mouse tray
makes sitting on your sofa with it comfy.
And it looks great with its customisable
backlight, too.

THRUSTMASTER TX
£384.99/$499 BEST STEERING WHEEL
We recommend the Thrustmaster TX Racing
Wheel Leather Edition, which comes with
the T3PA three-pedal add-on. The wheel
feels really sturdy and the design is more
like a racing car than a road model. The
servo itself is compact and has a pleasant
weight to it.

£119.99/$149.99 BEST CONTROLLER
While it may be one of the most expensive options on the
market, this official offering more than justifies its price tag.
Precise and comfortable, with an exceptionally high build
quality, it looks, feels and plays like a truly premium
controller. Building on the rock-solid foundations of the
standard Xbox One Wireless Controller, the Elite adds more
luxurious components, new back paddles and a huge
amount of customisation options, including a number of
interchangeable parts. Right now, it’s the best option
around – but be warned that will likely change when the
further refined (though even more pricey) Elite Controller 2
launches later this year on 4 November.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

WHY DO I NEED ONE?
External hard drives allow you to store
far more games, saves and other data,
eliminating the need to regularly delete
old favourites. Best of all, they’re super
easy to use – all you need to do is plug
it in, format it if necessary, and it will be
ready to go.

HOW BIG DO I NEED?
If you’re a regular gamer with a decent-
sized collection of titles you want to keep
downloaded, 2-4TB of storage should be
more than enough. 500GB drives can be
found cheap, but you’ll fill them too fast,
while going over 6TB will usually mean
you’re paying for space you won’t use.

DOES RPM MATTER?
Different drives run at different
speeds,from 5,400 to 10,000 revolutions
per minute, which in theory affects how
fast games install and load. In practice,
though, we doubt you’ll notice much of a
difference, so we don’t think it’s worth
paying extra for a higher speed.
