Our first glimpse at the art (above)
certainly seems to fit the bill. We do
wonder, though, how the series will
handle its protagonists – they’re silent
in the game, but will they talk here?
The Cuphead Show! will be
streaming exclusively on Netflix, but
there’s no word yet on a release date.
Here’s hoping it doesn’t take as long
to come together as the game did.

platformer whose art-style plays bold
tribute to the cartoons of the past... is
getting its own cartoon.
Dubbed The Cuphead Show!, it’ll
be rooted in the same classic ’30s
animation that the game draws on.
The developers at Studio MDHR aren’t
animating it themselves – “If we
were, I have a feeling it might never
get finished,” jokes founder Chad
Moldenhauer in his announcement
post on Xbox Wire. Instead, it’s being
handled by Netflix Animation, the
streaming service’s in-house team.Tea V
“We’ve been so blown away by the
early looks we’ve seen at the series,”
says Moldenhauer. “We’re proud
to say that they’re carrying on the
hand-animated tradition. While they
will be using digital tools, they will be
bringing things to life by hand, and will
be taking plenty of inspiration from the
same wacky world that had us starry-
eyed all those years ago. We think
