NEW BOOKS

Magazine 66 - Bookbound

by Rowan

Creative colourwork abounds in Rowan’s
latest seasonal pattern magazine. Its
Bookbound design theme, beautifully shot
on location in Cambridge, includes both
classic and modern Fair Isle styles.
‘Tolkein’, for example, is a long, open
cardigan by Martin Storey featuring a graphic
stranded colourwork pattern. ‘Eliot’, by Lisa
Richardson, has a Fair Isle body with sleeves
in Fair Isle and stripes for a patchwork effect.
Men’s projects include a turtleneck sweater

with a pattern of triangles by Arne and Carlos,
and there are lots of timeless striped designs.
Textured projects include a cabled wrap, a
cropped cable cardigan in Alpaca Soft DK, and
a linen stitch jacket. There is also a choice of
wardrobe essentials for men and women, such
as stocking stitch sweaters, ribbed cardigans
and waistcoats, and a striped sweater
blending Felted Tweed and Kidsilk Haze.
