PATTERN NOTES

Stitch markers are used to set the pattern
placements. When a stitch marker is
reached on subsequent rows, slip the
marker from the left-hand needle to the
right-hand needle.

Row 1 (RS): K17 ( 15 :22: 20 :18: 16 ), P2, K7;
rep from
to last 19 ( 17 :24: 22 :20: 18 ) sts, P2,
knit to end.
Row 2 (WS): Knit.
Rep rows 1 and 2 another 3 times.


Row 9 (place markers): K17 ( 15 :22: 20 :18:
16 ), pm, P2, K7; rep from to last 19 ( 17 :24:

Row 10: As row 2.


Change to 4mm needles.

“THE DIAGONALS on the broken
columns of my pattern are formed
using twisted stitches.” explains Emma
Vining. “Combining two and three
stitch twists slightly raises each column
from the background. The diagonal
l i n e s a re broke n up by of f s e t s e e d s t itc h
textured sections. The sides and drop
sleeves of the garment are knitted in
seed stitch, with the lower edges and
neckband knitted in garter stitch.”
