Deaths
BLEASDALE Cyril OBE, FCILT, died
peacefully on 26th March 2022, aged 87, at
King’s College Hospital. Beloved husband
of Katy, much-loved father of Emma and
Jane, loved by sons-in-law Timothy and
Peter, and grandfather adored by Harry
and Thomas. Cyril was a retired railway
director and will be missed by his many
friends in the railway industry. Also a
director of the international division of the
Chartered Institute of Logistics and
Transport for many years. The funeral for
Cyril will be held at St Mary’s Church,
Wimbledon, on Thursday 28th April at
noon. Family flowers only please.

BOLUS Audrey Patricia Delisle. Beloved

BROOKES John Remfry OBE died at
home on 28th March 2022, aged 86.
Husband to Anne, father to Caroline,
stepfather, grandfather and great-
grandfather. Private cremation. A service
will be held in remembrance at a later date.

BULGER Michael Anthony passed away
on 25th March 2022, aged 85. Beloved
husband of Judith and dearly loved father
of Anthony, he will be sorely missed.
Service to be held at St Bartholomew’s
Church, Much Marcle, Herefordshire
HR8 2LY, on Thursday 21st April at 11.30am,
followed by committal in the churchyard.
After the service, all are welcome at a
reception at White House, Kynaston,

PALMER
Alan Warwick Palmer died peacefully
on 25th March 2022, aged 95. Beloved
husband of the late Veronica.
Historian, fellow of the Royal Society
of Literature, inspirational teacher,
and friend to many. A Requiem Mass
will take place on Thursday 5th May at
1pm at the Church of St Mary
Magdalen, Oxford, OX1 3AE. Donations
in his memory to the RNLI or Oxfam.

ROBINSON Caroline Mary (née Foster)
on 25th March 2022, aged 76. Much-loved
wife, mother and grandmother. Private
family funeral. Details to follow of a
gathering to celebrate her life.
SMITH Dr Sylvia Frances Rosemary (née
Munford) on 31st March 2022 passed away
peacefully a few days after happy 94th
birthday celebrations with her family.
Funeral at Shrewsbury Crematorium,
12th April at 4.15pm.
SPILLER Diana May (née Hall), of
Faringdon, died peacefully on Monday 4th
April 2022, aged 95. Beloved wife of the
late Bobbie, adored mother of Peter and
Charles, Granny to James, Tatton, Roly and
Henry, Great-Granny to Caitlin, Alfred, Felix,
Elizabeth and Charlotte. A service of
Thanksgiving will be held at All Saints’
Church, Faringdon, Oxon, on Wednesday
20th April at 11am. All welcome, no flowers
please but donations may be made to the
Injured Jockeys Fund.

STEEL Lieutenant Colonel (Retired)
Robert Andrew (Tom) Steel OBE APTC on
27th March 2022, aged 74. Much-loved
widower of Susan, father of Kirk, Stuart and
Andrew. Cremation on Wednesday 20th
April, 12.30pm, at Cheltenham
