Canon PIXMA
PRO -10 S£493

On top of its camera prowess, Canon’s
range of printers is equally well regarded.
The PIXMA PRO-10S has a ten-ink
pigment system for a wide colour gamut
and it includes a Chroma Optimiser
cartridge. As well as a range of colours,
you’ll also find three monochrome inks
to create stunning black & white results,
and the pigment system has the added
benefit of producing long-lasting prints.
The print quality is outstanding,
especially when printing high-impact
mono shots. It can also take a range of
photo papers, including fine art paper
for stunning results.
There’s a high print resolution of
4800x2400dpi, but it doesn’t quite hit
the 1pl accuracy of Epson’s SC-P400.
However, this is all technical spec talk,
and in reality, the larger 4pl droplet size
won’t prove to have a noticeable impact
on image quality in the slightest.

Epson SureColor
SC-P400£5 49

This high-end personal printer is
wireless and ethernet ready, and
prints up to A3 with a resolution of
5760x1440dpi. It supports a range of
papers, such as fine art, gloss and matte,
up to a 1.3mm thickness. It even has
support for roll paper and rigid media,
which is a huge bonus. It boasts a
seven-colour UltraChrome Hi-Gloss2
inkset, with gloss optimiser, that results
in an exceptionally wide colour gamut.
To ensure the highest quality prints,
the SC-P400 has a minimum 1.5pl ink
droplet, which was class-leading on its
release, and ensures highly accurate
results. You can even print directly from
your tablet or smartphone, thanks to the
Wi-Fi connectivity and Epson iPrint app.
Though using individual ink cartridges
will cut down on waste – as you can
replace them separately when required

  • they cost about £15 each, so they’re not
    the cheapest option here. epson.co.uk
