could’ve been the glue that was needed to keep them
together. “Victor has always been connected to Ash-
ley,” he reminded. “It’s not as if she is somebody who

As for Ashley, “the trust she has in him has been dam-
aged,” the scribe agreed. “But she is tied to him. For
years, she had this idealized dream of Victor. It’s not
going to be something she can easily walk away from.”
