EAT YOUR
VEGGIES
Cattle ranching is the top
reason people cut down
trees in the Amazon rain-
forest. The meat is often
sent to other countries—
and might end up in your
grocery store. You can help
by asking your parents to
buy only local meat or meat
from farmers markets. Or
just eat less meat altogether.
GORILLA GUARD
You can help protect forests in the Democratic Republic of Congo—and the mountain
gorillas that live there—by recycling your laptops, cell phones, and other technology.
These items contain a mineral from an ore called coltan that’s mined in these habitats.
By recycling, you’ll reduce the need to mine for more.
