Depending on orientation of bone, either the zygomatic
arch went straight back and lateral orbital margin was
turned outward, or (if zygomaticomaxillary suture faced
forward) arch flared laterally. In either case, temporal
zygomatic process was very long and had tall anterior
end.


Ternpard. Based on fragment with part of anterior
squamosal suture, articular fossa and suprameatal
region, was very lightly built. Anterior squamosal suture
flows smoothly (does not corner) into temporal fossa.
Articular fossa relatively short, moderately deep, and
wide m/l; bounded anteriorly by low articular eminence
and behind by low vertical wall, and extends partly
onto inferior surface of posterior root of zygomatic
arch above. Mastoid region apparently swelled out
somewhat laterally and was pervaded by mass of small-
to-medium air cells. No suprameatal crest.
Parietal Fragments. Thin to very thick. Grooves
for meningeal vessels large. Superior sagittal sinus well
defined where preserved. Region of parietomastoid
suture normally thick; cranial wall would have been
vertical at this point. Another large cranial fragment
suggests skull was well rounded in rear profile.
