The Human Fossil Record. Volume 2 Craniodental Morphology of Genus Homo (Africa and Asia)

(Ben Green) #1

146 AFRICA

KNM-ER 1590F: Ldm2 (buccal roots somewhat
splayed provide only evident reason for considering
this tooth deciduous). Very thin enamel. Cusps low
and peripherally placed. Protocristae thin, divergent,
and V shaped, enclosing large, shallow trigon basin.
Hypocone displaced somewhat from postprotocrista.
Preserved portion of postcingulum arcs up toward
metacone. Lingual side of protocone quite sloped and
bears some weak crenulation. Very chimpanzee-like.
