❍ What percentage of patients experience improvement in pelvic pain after laparoscopic ablation of
early-stage endometrial implants?
Approximately 70%. However, in a significant proportion, pain will recur.

❍ What is depicted below and what surgical technique is used to correct it?

This is a bicornuate uterus with divergent horns. Strassman metroplasty is the classic technique used to unify the
horns through wedge resection and apposition of the myometrium.

❍ What surgical techniques are available to correct the uterine anomaly seen below (and what anomaly is
pictured)?

A uterine septum is pictured. Hysteroscopic resection is the procedure of choice. A Jones metroplasty
(wedge resection) is the classic abdominal procedure.
