ABSTRACT
Food insecurity and malnutrition continue to pose a challenge in
Ghana. New ways of increasing availability, affordability and
consumption of protein and to improve alternative sources of livelihood
are being exploited in Ghana that has the climate, water bodies and other
resources suitable for aquaculture production. Aquaculture is currently
practiced throughout the country, with over 60% of farms in the southern
and central belts according to Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture
Development (MoFAD) data. The fish farming sub-sector in Ghana
