C. f. frandseni—Koh Chang (Thailand). This form is red with
gray fl anks.
C. f. germaini—Condor (= Côn Son) Island (Vietnam). This
form is all black.
C. f. harmandi—Phu Quoc Island (Vietnam). This form is
reddish brown on the back, light orange red on the ven-
ter, and has a grayish white tail.
C. f. trotteri—Koh Lan (Thailand). This form is gray, with a
white tail and black feet.
Mainland forms include the following nine subspecies.
C. f. annellatus—southern Laos and central and eastern Cam-
bodia. This form is mainly reddish brown, with a cream
band at the base of the tail.
C. f. bocourti—central Thailand. This form is quite variable,
with a black back and a white to cream-colored head and
venter.
C. f. boonsongi—northeastern Thailand. This form is mostly
black above, gray on the venter, and with a white edge to
the ears.
