description: S. tahan is similar to S. tenuis, but S. tahan is
larger and darker. The tail is annulated; and the tips of its
guard hairs are buff , not white.

Sundasciurus tenuis (Horsfi eld, 1824)
Slender Squirrel
description: The upperparts are speckled brownish, and
the hairs of the underparts are normally gray with white or
buff y tips. S. tenuis is pale around the eyes and above the
facial whiskers. It usually has an indistinct pale spot behind
each ear. The tail is rather long and slender.
