POINT AFTER

Formula One is having a moment—and if you’re an American fan hooked on
Formula One: Drive to Survive, the hit Netflix docuseries that takes viewers behind
the scenes of races, your opportunities to experience the sport in person are
growing. On May 8, F1 expands its U.S. footprint with the debut of the Miami
Grand Prix, a new event that will make the F1 world championship a fixture in
South Florida for the next decade. This is the first year the U.S. will host multiple
F1 races since the early 1980s. (The circuit will also be in Austin in October.) For
the uninitiated: Pay attention to Belgian and Dutch star Max Verstappen (above),
the 2021 F1 champion and winner of this season’s second race, in Saudi Arabia.
