Yummm, ratfish! Part of a whimsical soup can label titled “Ratfish Soup” by Vancouver, B.C., artist Cam MacDonald
([email protected]). MacDonald included this in a 1 , 700 -can exhibition that included can labels for several
other poorly known, noncommercial fish species (diced coelacanth, viperfish fillets, barreleye fillets, crested melam-
phid, whole tidepool snailfish). MacDonald’s work calls attention to overfishing, rampant consumerism, and the per-
