After a few months of cooking up beef, chicken, and fish while using
this cheap little thermometer to measure their temps, we’ve come
to appreciate its accuracy. Once inserted in a cut of meat, the gadget
relays temperature information to your phone. You can watch fluctu-
ations in real time and receive a notification when your dish reaches a
selected or desired level. The Smart does prioritize early removal of
meats, slightly undercooking your level of doneness to account for car-
ryover time, so you will want to let your meal rest before cutting into it.
BEST SMALL DISHWASHER
Bob Dishwasher $399
The Bob is for apartment dwellers or people who don’t have a dish-
washer in their home. It cleans your plates and cutlery with soap, water,
and advanced UV light to kill germs. You can customize the placement of
the dividers depending on the size of what you’re washing. Simply load
up the dishwasher with your dirty dishes, a Bob soap tablet, and water. It
has a variety of cleaning modes, but the normal one was effective in our
use—eliminating caked-on food remnants and making our cutlery spar-
kle in just 20 minutes. Bob is a large countertop solution, but the capacity
is enough for the daily dishes of up to three people.

Amazon Fire TV Cube $119This streaming box is a technical powerhouse for the price; it acts as
a hands-free universal remote, smart hub, and speaker in one sleek,
3-inch glass cube. You can stream movies, shows, and games as well
as play 3D-intensive titles. This is the strongest Fire TV model, thanks
to its overpowered hexa-core processor paired with 16 GB of inter-
nal memory, which allows it to rip through action- and graphic-heavy
games. It makes for one of the best streaming media centers for its
