(UV-vis) spectra acquired at pointsp1top4
during the CV scan revealed the growth of an
absorbance at 370 nm. The UV-vis spectrum
acquired atp4almost perfectly matched that
of the Ni^0 (iPrQ) bisphosphine ( 2 )thatwe


isolated and characterized from a reaction of
Ni(COD) 2 andiPrQ.
Surprised that a Ni^0 (phosphine) complex
might be generated at such mild potentials, we
conducted bulk electrolysis of complex 1 in

the presence ofiPrQand analyzed solution
aliquots by^31 P nuclear magnetic resonance
(NMR) spectroscopy throughout the reaction
(Fig. 3D). As a reference, freeiPrQexhibited a

(^31) P resonance at–14 ppm, whereas the ligated
