O-demethylation.^1 Hand^13 CNMR analyses showed that M15 lacked the
OCH 3 group (at 3.8 ppm for^1 Hand 55 ppm for^13 C) observed for the parent
muraglitazar. The only change was the disappearance of the methoxy
resonance of position 23. All other signals were in the same range as in the
parent molecule, including theortho- andmeta- positions in the corresponding
aromatic ring. This metabolite was assigned asO-demethyl muraglitazar.
